Following the example of Statistics Poland, the intervention will set the scene for the session, outlining management issues and commitment to meet various users’ needs while planning development-related activities.Providing data for SDGs is a major coordination challenge. Global level data for the 231 SDG indicators is coming together from over 50 international organizations (the so-called custodian agencies) based on data from 193 countries. In each country, the data comes from many agencies in the national statistical system but also from outside the system, often from over 30-40 national agencies. The paper will explain the context of this major undertaking and summarise the UNECE activities to support SDG measurement in cooperation with NSOs.
SpeakerMs. Sara FranklSweden“SD-what?” The UNECE’s Road Map on SDG statisticsThe UNECE Steering Group on SDG statistics has compiled a Road Map to support countries and other actors in the work on producing and using SDG-related statistics. The second edition of the Road Map has just been finalised. The paper will present the content of the Road Map and how it can be used. It will also describe the Steering Group’s work leading up to the finalised product and the work on its extensive and efficient implementation.
